OYO launches portal to hire 7,000 primary school teachers

The Oyo State Government has announced that its Primary School Teachers Recruitment Jobs Portal will open on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at 6pm.

The
Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Nureni Adeniran, disclosed this on Tuesday while briefing journalists at the board's headquarters in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Dr.
Adeniran said the opening of the portal for recruitment activities was part of the state government's efforts to reduce unemployment among the people of the state.

According
to Adeniran, the portal will provide each candidate with a registration including email address, phone number and national identity number and provide suitable jobs as teachers and supervisors.

Adeniran
provided the site link as subeb.jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng for the recruitment of 7,000 teachers and 100 supervisors. He said applications will be accepted for the next three weeks, from June 25, 2024 to July 9, 2024, but two applicants cannot apply using the same email address.

"The
Oyo State Government wants to expand the scope of employment in the basic education sub-sector and for those interested in working as nurses," Adeniran said.

"Education
is a key pillar of Governor Seyi Makinde's administration. We are recruiting new primary school teachers as we will achieve an inclusive government that will harness the valuable potential that abounds in the state.

"Applicants
can avail of a free support service to address any complaints or issues that arise during the online application process through the support service to the phone number and email address listed on the website," he assured. He advised candidates to upload the required documents, adding that the recruitment would be transparent, fair, credible and merit-based.

Dr.
Adeniran said the application would involve a three-step process including online application, computer-based mock test and oral interview.

The
SUBEB head advised applicants to beware of scammers, adding that the only portal through which they could apply was the one specified above.

Adeniran
said the application process was free from start to finish.

He
added that neither employees nor non-employees were tasked with collecting funds from applicants.
