MAUTECH SUG press release on tuition fee increment - Schools Around Me

The Students' Union Government was strongly averse to the increment in tuition that didn’t place the students as major indices for consideration, hence, we deemed the 100% increment as untimely and outrageous

Our plight at the meeting we had with the Management was subject to consideration, and we anticipated outcomes in the affirmative as soon as possible; but to our greatest surprise, it was unfavorable.

 As a response, we entreated all students to pause the process of fees payment until it was properly reviewed. We then placed possible options to the School Management, and appealed through the Dean, Students' Affairs Division to the Vice Chancellor for; i) 40% reduction ii) splitting of the tuition fees into per-semester payments iii) the extension of tuition fees payment period.

 After series of sending letters, entreaties, and prayers, we are now glad that a positive outcome emerged. The School Management agreed to our pleas and declared that;
 i) A payment of 50% be made per semester
 ii) Any student with carryover is to pay for only the semester he/she is coming to rewrite
 iii) There will be an extension in the deadline for the payments of fees.

We want to thank each and every one who trusted in us to deliver amongst the bad PR.
 We also thank the Vice Chancellor and School Management for hearing us out. Indeed, we are grateful.

 In conclusion, we want to assure you all that your interest will remain our primary focus, also please shun the rumors that we play nonchalance and apparently don’t show remorse.
 Kindly, receive the highest regards of our total commitment, dedication and sacrifices. Stay tuned for subsequent meetings and outcomes. Thank you!

Yours in struggle,
SUG, MAU Yola
